Health Canada continues to gather and assess evidence across the three key input areas: scientific basis, Canadian context, and use of guidance.
Summaries of the evidence underpinning dietary guidance, published since the development of the Evidence Review Cycle (ERC), are:
- Food, Nutrients and Health: Interim Evidence Update 2018, which focuses on the ERC scientific basis key input area providing an overview of evidence on convincing relationships between food, nutrients and health.
- Evidence Review for Dietary Guidance: Summary of Results and Implications for Canada’s Food Guide, which provides key results from the 2015 Evidence Review for Dietary Guidance: Technical Report. This review included evidence from all three ERC key input areas.
