Ingredients

  • 750 mL (3 cups) frozen berries or other frozen fruits
  • 30 mL (2 tbsp) lemon juice
  • 30 mL (2 tbsp) maple syrup or honey

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 75 °C (170 °F)  and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized pot, add all ingredients and warm over medium-low heat until fruit starts to break down and is warmed through, between 10 and 15 minutes.
  3. Transfer mixture to a blender. Remove the centre piece of the blender lid; cover the hole with a kitchen cloth to prevent splashing and to allow heat to escape. Blend until smooth.
  4. Spread mixture evenly onto prepared baking sheet and place into the oven. Bake for 6 ½  to 8 hours, or until dry to the touch. The fruit leathers may be dry on the top before the bottom, so cut a small piece towards the middle to check for doneness.
  5. Once cooked through, allow to cool and then using a pizza cutter, or knife, slice into rectangles.
  6. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Peel off the parchment paper before eating.
